From the 13th to the 22nd of March, takes place the 22nd European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) at the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Center (MECC).
Considered the most important antiques fair in the world, TEFAF offers its visitors the opportunity of getting in touch with works of art from old masters and more contemporary ones.
One of the highlights is the painting by post-impressionist Van Gogh "The Park of the Hospital Saint-Paul", painted in October 1889 whyle staying at this psychiatric hospital located in Saint-Rémy de Provence, when living in France and being diagnosed with epilapsy.
The painting has been in the possession of a swiss private collection since 1963 and during that time has only been exhibited to the public for three times.
"The Park of the Hospital of Saint-Paul" is being placed for €25 million by the London and New York based dealer Dickinson.
Among the paintings, sulptures, jewelry and furniture brought to the fair by 239 traders, is the painting "David and Bathsheba" (1534) by Lucas Cranach the Elder (1472-1553), with a value over €5 million, photographies by Man Ray (1890-1976) and a wood sculpture by Ossip Zadkine.
