Depois dos Quatro Vintes: Percursos Individuais
In 1968, Ângelo de Sousa, Armando Alves, Jorge Pinheiro and José Rodrigues, formed the “Grupo dos Quatro Vintes” (Group of the Four Twenties), which lasted until 1972.
The name arised from the fact that all of them had graduated from the Oporto School of Fine Arts with an average of 20, the top grade.
Today July 28th, a colective exhibition will be inaugurated at 18h30 in the Palácio das Belas Artes - Fábrica de Talentos, Oporto.
From the Millenium BCP collection, “Depois dos Quatro Vintes: Percursos Individuais” shows the works of the four artists.
Commissioned by Lúcia Almeida Matos e Rui Paiva, the exhibition includes screen printings by Ângelo de Sousa, landscape paintings by Armando Alves, works on canvas by Jorge Pinheiro and pieces focusing on the image of Christ, created by José Rodrigues.
“Depois dos Quatro Vintes: Percursos Individuais” can be visited until 17th September 2011 (9h30-19h00 Mon-Fri and 10h00-19h00 Sat).
Admitance is free.
The portuguese artist Ângelo de Sousa passed away on March 29, 2011.
