The Little Mermaid Leaves Denmark to Visit Expo 2010 Shanghai China
Based upon Hans Christian Andersen's tale, where a sea king's mermaid daughter who falls in love with a prince must wait 300 years to become human, the bronze statue created by Danish sculptor Edvard Eriksen has left the Copenhgen's harbour for the Expo 2010 Shanghai China.
This is the first time that the statue leaves the harbour since it's unveiling in 1913.
Scheduled to be placed about a week before the opening on May 1, the statue will be the Danish pavilion's highlight at Shangai's World Expo.
Due to the obvious security reasons, the Little Mermaid's itineray is being kept secret.
