From 1st to the 3rd of October 2010, the EMPAC (Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center) will host a festival of new works in the areas of visual arts, installation, performance, sound and media.
With over 15 premieres, the Filament 2010 includes contemporary dance, theater, video, 24-channel sound and a barn-raising. There will also be a dynamic archive of the creative process.
During the festival, visitors will have the chance to exchange ideas and experiences with artists, curators and creative engineers, an opportunity that can start during the opening reception where you can have a glass and a snack with curators and commissioned artists in Evelyn’s Café.
The festival will also include three programs of performances from across the spectrum of dance, theater, music, and the visual arts, commissioned specifically for this event.
Curated by Kathleen Forde, Helene Lesterlin, Micah Silver and Emily Zimmerman, the Filament 2010 emphasizes EMPAC's focus on creation via commissions and residencies.
