When applying to an art college or school, one of the things that causes more doubts among applicants is how to build a portfolio that will portray one's work and cause good impression.
Many of these art institutions offer guidelines about how to submit a portfolio, namely what to include, how to present and submission dates. Nonetheless there are differences between the several places and it's always good to have a general idea of what is usually asked for.
After performing a brief search, I found an article writen by Kavin Buck, artist and director of recruitment & outreach from the UCLA School of the Arts & Architecture.
The article offers a comprehensive overview about the subject and I believe that you will find it useful.
