La Petite Escalère - International Residency Program Spring 2013

 Applications are open for La Petite Escalère's Spring 2013 residency program for international visual artists (Photographers and video artists are encouraged to apply)

 The program will last between April 30 and June 30, 2013 and will provide its residents with the opportunity to develop a specific project or pursue personal research in a unique setting and offers full accommodations, a weekly stipend and transportation to and from LPE.
 Located in the Southwest of France, on the banks of the Adour River, La Petite Escalère offers two residencies each year, one in the spring and one in the fall, each time hosting a single artist (two artists if developing a collaborative project) for a minimum of 1 week (2 for international artists) and up to 4 weeks at a time.

 Covering approximately 70 acres of marshland, meadows and wooded areas, LPE enables a close relation with nature and visual artst, naturally bringing up related artistic practices. Nonetheless, residential artists are invited to develop their own approaches and creations in an open and personal dialogue with LPE, its territory and heritage.
 No production is required at the end of the residency. Each resident is free of his/her time and work during his/her stay at LPE. But he or she agrees to dedicate half a day per week of residency to education programs, meeting and sharing with different groups around their work and experience.

 The application form must be sent by mail only and no later than October 15, 2012, together all the required documents. No reminder will be sent and no additional documents will be accepted. Incomplete applications will be discarded.

 Successful applicants will possess artistic excellence and commitment, affinity with LPE's missions and concerns. In order to facilitate the resident's stay at LPE and the outreach and education programs around his/her work,  the ability to speak French, English or Spanish is a must.

 The interview with pre-selected candidates will take place before December 15, 2012.
 A final notification will be sent no later than January 15, 2013

 Residents for the 2013 Spring Residency will be selected by LPE's Board, together with an artistic committee comprised of distinguished art professionals, artists and intellectuals.

Two categories of artists will be more specifically considered:

•On one hand emerging artists for whom such an experience would contribute to career development.
•On the other, established artists for whom LPE can offer a fresh approach to nature and sculpture.

A publication documenting the residencies and conceived in collaboration with the residents is published and distributed by LPE each year

Apply for the MONA Scholarship 2012

Emerging Tasmanian artists are invited to apply for the AUD $12,500 MONA Scholarship 2012.

The money granted by the Scholarship is to be used to buy art materials and equipment for an exhibition at MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) 12 months after receiving it. The exhibition will be held at the Mona Library Gallery, and the museum will select one piece for its permanent collection. The remainder of the works can be sold to the public, with the artist keeping the profit.

The 2012 MONA Scholarship winner will be announced on June 28, 2012 at Mona Library Gallery during Alyssa Simone's opening exhibition. Alyssa is a multi-media artist from Bruny Island, Tasmania and was the 2011 winner. She will exhibit between 6pm and 8pm.
Applications must be posted or delivered by hand to MONA by 5pm Friday 1 June 2012.
The winner will be advised by email in due time.

Future Generation Art Prize 2012

Entries are open for those who wish to participate in the second edition of the Future Generation Art Prize, founded by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

The press conference took place last February 6 and counted with the presence of its founder and chairman of the board, the Ukrainian billionaire, philanthropist and art collector Viktor Pinchuk; Eckhard Schneider, General Director at the PinchukArtCentre; Richard Armstrong, Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation; Nicholas Serota, Director of the Tate Museum; Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons, both Mentor Artists since the first edition of the Future Generation Art Prize; Cinthia Marcelle from Brazil, Winner of the Future Generation Art Prize 2010.

Open to all young artists worldwide aged between 18 and 35, this biennial Prize provides considerable means to permit the development of an artistic career for the winner, as well as supporting other selected participating artists.

The submission can be made either individually or in group as one participant, being possible for those who are part of a group to also enter individually, but only once for each.

All works of art, regardless of category and media will be accepted within the size limitations as outlined in the EntryForm. Obviously the artist should be keep his/her creativity within the bounderies of good sense and avoid submiting offensive works. It goes without saying that the submited art should be the artist's or group of artists own concept and creation.
The artist will be responsible for providing with due time, the necessary instructions regarding the eventual assembly of works and installation, two months before the opening of the Prize Exhibition but in any event not later than August 30, 2012.

The organizers of the Future Generation Art Prize 2012 will cover all costs of crating, for which the participant agrees to pass all dimensions and
specifications of the artwork(s), transportation and customs formalities when shipping artworks to/from Kiev for exhibition in accordance with separate agreements with the participant, as well as the insurance of the artwork(s) nail-to-nail according to the value given by the participant for the complete period of the loan. The artist will be responsible for providing all the required information for customs formalities and agrees to sign any relevant separate contracts required for customs clearance during transportation to the Prize Exhibition according to all applicable laws.

Submissions can be made online between 6 February and 6 May 2012, until 4:00 PM (CET).

A shortlist of twenty artists will be announced in June 2012 and the exhibition of their works will take place at the PinchukArtCentre between October 2012 and January 2013. These artists will participate by showing the existing artworks they highlighted in their applications and may, if agreed with the Organizers, also create new works specifically for the Prize Exhibition.

The winner of the national PinchukArtCentre Prize will also participate, bringing the
maximum number of artists in the Prize Exhibition to 21.

In December 2012, will take place the Future Generation Art Prize 2012 Award Ceremony, where the winning artist or collective artists will be awarded with a prize split into US$60,000 in cash and US$ 40,000 to invest in the production of new work.

The jury will also award up to five "Special Prizes" to support young talents. The
Special Prizes will not be bound to a financial award but rather serve above all to support the further development of the artists in the form of residences in different art contexts. At the Organizers sole discretion up to a total of US$ 20,000 can be invested for about five Special Prizes.

The Future Generation Art Prize was announced for the first time in December 2009 by Viktor Pinchuk at the Gramercy Park hotel in New York.

Applications are open for 3rd Edition of the INOV-ART internship programme

The 3rd edition of INOV-ART will award 150 scholarships for the completion of international professional internships in the following areas and respective number of vacancies: Architecture and Urbanism (17); Performing Arts (22); Visual Arts (17); Cinema and
Audiovisual (22); Design (17); Writing and Editing (8); Management, Creative Industries and
Marketing (15); New Media (12); Heritage (8); Educational Services (12);

INOV-ART is intended for young people between 18 and 30 years old who have been residing in Portugal for over 1 year by the time they apply, who are unemployed, looking for their first job or for a new job. The candidates must possess proven qualifications in the fields of the arts and culture that they are applying to, attested by a higher education diploma, or a specialised artistic education certificate and proven experience.

Joint applications resulting from a prior agreement established between candidates and placement organisations may be submited.

Internships are expected to last between three and six months, with abroad ones being carried out between July and December 2011. The selected candidates will receive financial support, health insurance during the period of internship abroad (when applicable) and personal accident insurance covering all seminar days, the internship abroad and days spent travelling.

The deadline for applying to the 3rd edition of INOV-ART is April 15, 2011 (at 16:59:59h local time in mainland Portugal).
