Michael Kountouris is the winner of the Worldpress Cartoon 2013



Greek artist Michael Kountouris was awarded the WPC Sintra 2013 Grand Prix during the ceremony that took place yesterday at the Centro Olga Cadaval, Sintra.
He won with his editoril cartoon «EU Rescue Team» published in «Efimerida Ton Syntanton» newspaper, from Athens.

 Born in Rhodes in 1960, the winner of the World Press Cartoon 2013 has been working as an editorial cartoonist in Greek newspapers since 1985 and has been cooperating with magazines.
Kountouris is also a children's books illustrator and regular member of the Athens Journalists Union since 1993 as well as founding member and secretary of the Greek Cartoonists Association.
During his career, he has been awarded several prizes and honourable mentions.


 First, second and third prizes, were attributed in each category, as well as several honourable mentions.

 In the Caricature category, the winners were: 1st Prize: «Evo Morales», by Pablo Lobato, from Argentina, published in the «Qué Pasa» newspaper from Santiago do Chile; 2nd Prize: «Mandela» by Jarbas Domingos, Brazil, published in «Diario de Pernambuco» newspaper from Recife, Brazil; 3rd Prize: «Messi» by Carbajo, Spain, published in «El Jueves» magazine from Barcelona.

 In the Gag Cartton category, the winners were: 1st Prize: «Low Economy», by Saeed Sadeghi, Iran, published in the «Jam-E-Jam» newspaper, from Tehran; 2nd Prize: «Who is...», by Robert Rousso, France, published in «Barricade», from Paris; 3rd Prize: «Free Warrior», by Raul Zuleta, Colombia, published in «El Mundo de Karry», from Lima, Peru.

 In the Editorial Cartoon category, the winners were: «EU Rescue Team» by Michael Kountouris, Greece, published in «Efimerida Ton Syntanton» newspaper, from Athens (winner of the World Press Cartoon 2013 Grand Prix); 2nd Prize: «Untitled» by Radulovic Spiro, Serbia, published in «Politika», from Belgrade; 3rd Prize: «USA greatest enemy», by Gregório de Holanda, Brazil, published in the «Diário de Pernambuco» newspaper, from Recife.

The works can be seen at the Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval, from April 13 through June 30, 2013.

Visit the LA Art Show 2013 during this weekend



During this weekend take the family with you and go visit the LA Art Show 2013.
The event provides a comprehensive art experience offered by The Modern & Contemporary; The Historic & Traditional; The Vintage Poster and by The IFPDA Los Angeles Print Fair.

Now in its 18th year, the LA Art Show features some known galleries from around the world and a complete programme that includes lectures, tours, special exhibits, and must-attend after parties.

The event takes place at the LA Convention Center/South Hall J and K and can be visited this Saturday January 26 (11am - 7pm) and Sunday January 27 (11am - 5pm)
Ticket price for one day (general admissons) is $20 with $5 discount when purchased online.

Last year, the event, which is the longest running venue for contemporary, modern, historic and traditional art in the country, hosted more than 100 prominent art galleries and drew more than 50,000 visitors with its two-show concept that distinctly separated modern and contemporary works from historical and traditional works.

Art in The Square Delray Beach 2012




 From 19th to 21st October 2012, the grounds of Old School Square Cultural Arts Center, located in Delray Beach, Florida, will once again host the artwork of contemporay artists from United States.

 In the likeness of previous editions, the 3rd annual Art in The Square Delray Beach art festival aims to enhance the relation between artists and the community. Through this event, RP&G Productions, one of South Florida's premier event planning companies, pretends to benefit local youth art programs and the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, while continuously developing programs and activities that encourage public awareness, participation, and appreciation of the visual arts, contributing to the community's revitalization via the arts.

 With the mission of making art an active part of the lives of children in all South Florida communities,  RP&G Productions provides financial support to local community based youth art programs and children charities by allocating a percentage of the proceeds from all its events.

 Art in The Square Delray Beach permits established artists to show their latest works and is an excellent opportunity for new and emerging artists to start gaining recognition from the public and start building their artistic career.

 According to the information at the official website, the applications after June 2 will not be eligible to receive awards by the juri and payments after July 2 will be charged a $20.00 late fee, besides the regular participation fees.

África Mostra-se! African Culture & Film Festival



The edition 1 of África Mostra-se! African Culture & Film Festival will take place in Lisbon from 14 to 17 of June 2012.

 From 14 to 16 of June, a partnership between ISU – Instituto de Solidariedade e cooperação Universitária  and the Institut Français du Portugal, in colaboration with Cinémathèque Afrique – Institut Français, brings to the public the possibility to discover the culture and artistic diversity of the African continent.

 With particular focus on films by renowned African cinematographers, África Mostra-se! is a multicultural experience (French version) that includes music, handicraft, an African dance workshop (bookmark is necessary, contact africamostrase@gmail.com or  962 313 048) and one hour of African tales especially catered for younger audiences (in French).

 Parallel activities will take place during the event. On Friday 15th, Arte & Manha presents a singing workshop, a concert and a DJ party, and on Saturday 16th, a percussion workshop, a panel discussion and a concert.
On Sunday 17th, The Associação de Tempos Livres de Alfama (ATLA) will present a concert and a film projection, as well as an all day long festival with handicraft and African gastronomy.

Festival International du Pastel 2012 (Feytiat)



The commune of Feytiat, located in the Limousin region in west-central France, is once again partnering with the Société des Pastellistes de France to present the 11th edition of one the most important worldwide events dedicated to the pastel art.

Gathering some of the most prestigious professional pastelists, as well as some of the most promissing ones, the Festival International du Pastel shows near 300 artworks every year, created by pastelists from around the world.
Since its start in 2001, the Festival has already been visited by over 100000 people.

During the event, the public will not only be able to appreciate the works of art, but will also have the chance to talk with the artists face to face and find out that they will be happy to share their experience and answer to the questions of those who wish to learn more about this medium.

Continuing the tradition of former editions, demonstrations and workshops will be available for those who wish to improve their skills and learn new approaches to the medium. Intended for every level (some experience is advisable), these workshops will be administered by profesisional artists from the Société des Pastellistes de France.

Serralves em Festa! (Party at Serralves) 2012



Continuing the tradition of previous ones, Serralves em Festa! (Party at Serralves) is the biggest contemporary arts festival in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe, featuring 40 hours of non-stop activities for all ages. It is also the opening event of Oporto festivities.

The 9th edition starts with the "Mono, The Ambulant Monkey" 30 minutes puppet theatre performance on the 1st of June at the Oporto airport (repeats at Serralves on 2 June at 13h15, 15h30 and 17h30and on 3 June at the same schedules.
Also at the airport, the public will have the chance to watch "Blue Tired Heroes," a 40 minutes performance that will take place in the same day at 14h00, 15h30 and 17h00, at Serralves on 2 June at 13h00, 16h00 and 18h00, and 3 June at 10h30, again at the airport.

Serralves em Festa! will take place in several places of Oporto historic centre.
Between June 2nd (8AM) and June 3rd (Midnight), the park, the museum, the auditorium and the villa, will host more than 220 events: Exhibitions, Photography, Cinema, Theatre, Contemporary Dance, Performance, Contemporary Circus, Music, Acrobacy, Guided Tours, and Activities for children and families.

In all the spaces where activities take place, there will be duly intentified assitants (wearing yellow t-shirts displaying the word "info") prepared to answer all your questions; except the next lottery numbers.

VIII International Comics Festival of Beja 2012


The city of Beja continues to manifest its commitment as a reference of cultural events through the offering of a continuous programme.

On May 26th, inaugurates the VIII International Comics Festival of Beja (VIII Festival Internacional de BD de Beja), with all activities taking place at Casa da Cultura de Beja, until to June 10th.

In its programme, the Festival will include individual and colective exhibitions showing the work by artists from several countries, showcases.
Several parallel events such as book and fanzine releases and presentations, an informal dialogue, feature flims, the presentation of Grande Prémio Geraldes Lino for upcoming author, as well as a stroll throughout the city, will take place.

At the book market you'll have selling of original artwork, screen prints, selling of used magazines and action figures, a modeling workshop and showcase, as well as Gamecon Beja 2012, will also make part of the extensive programme.

You can also visit the Comics Library of Beja (Bedeteca de Beja), one of three existent in Portugal.
Besides being a specialized library, with an Archive for Original Artwork, a Documentation and Research Section, an Illustration, Cartoon and Cinema Section,  it also functions as a working space, making available to the public many of the necessary tools to work in the comics area. The Comics Library of Beja also includes a Gallery of Temporary Exhibitions and Toupeira – the Comics Workshop of Beja, a structure composed of 23 authors.

The first day of the VIII International Comics Festival of Beja will start on May 26th (3.00 pm) and will extend through Sunday (4.00 am). Are you brave enough ?
Again on Sunday, May 27th, from 10.00 to 8.00 pm.

Until Sunday, June 10th (8.00 pm closing), the opening hours will be as follow:

Festa na Baixa (Party in Downtown) Porto 2012



Promoted by the CNC - Núcleo do Porto, the 7th edition of Festa na Baixa (Party in Downtown) is once again taking place throughout the city of Oporto (Portugal).

The event will last until the 26th of May and will include many cultural activities covering multiple areas such as dance, music, theatre, visual arts, street performances, exhibitions, workshops, pedipapers, conferences, tertulias, guided visits, etc. All events with free admission (reserve may be necessary because of limited places).

Many artists and several cultural institutions are participating in the Festa na Baixa in Oporto 2012, bringing the cultural experience to everyone, often showing how different media may complement each other and how the arts can play an important role in society and make citizens life more pleasurable.

FIMFA Lx12 - International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms

Organized by A Tarumba - Teatro de Marionetas, the 12th edition of the International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms - FIMFA Lx is taking place in Lisbon until the 20th of May, with extended activities in the cities of Guarda (Teatro Municipal da Guarda)  and Montemor-o-Novo (O Espaço do Tempo)

FIMFA Lx is regarded as one of the most important festivals of puppetry and theatre in Portugal, presenting a programme that goes from the work of the most traditional puppet companies to the use of recent technologies, and where elemental techniques together with experimental and contemporary performance, offer a broad experience to the viewer.

The 2012 edition of the Festival  is taking place at the Museu da Marioneta, Teatro Maria Matos, Teatro São Luiz, Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Centro Cultural de Belém, Galeria Boavista, CAMA - Centro de Artes da Marioneta and through the streets of Lisbon, featuring the work of 20 companies and creators from countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom.

Other activities such as street and short forms shows, film documentary, videos, an intimate concert with Yael Rasooly, and exhibition featuring the puppets from the Tarumba company, a book fair related to theatre, puppetry and animated forms, and informal meetings where creators and puppeteers are invited to talk about their work and creative process, complement the FIMFA Lx12 - International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms.

FIESA 2012 - 10th International Sand Sculpture Festival



Since its start in 2003, FIESA (Festival Internacional de Esculturas em Areia) has become an unmissable event of its kind, attractring artists and public worldwide.
Once again, visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate the wonderful sand sculptures, often of admirable size, executed by creative and devoted artists who turn sand blocs into marvelous works of art.

Under the theme "Idols" the 10th International Sand Sculpture Festival - FIESA 2012, will take place as usual at Pêra, Algarve, located in the south of Portugal (GPS 37º 07'43 .35''N / 8º 19'56 .04''W).

This year's theme will present an historical and geographical approach on characters, either real or fictional, religious entities, icons, etc, who have caused admiration, devotion, or have been idolized by crowds through times, from recent years to millenia.
During its exibition time, FIESA 2012 will offer a space for sand sculpture activities, where each day, adults, teens and children will be able to experience this form of artistic expression and show their creative abilities.

Unique in the Iberian Peninsula and organized by ProSandArt - Cultural Events Organization, FIESA is considered the largest sand sculpture festival in the world, by the size of its sculptures and the area they occupy. It can be visited by day or by night when the sculptures are illuminated by light play.


Fiesa 2012 can be visited during the following hours:

Between May 25 and June 29 from 10am until 9pm.
Between June 30 and September 15 from 10am until Midnight.
Between September 16 and October 25 from 10am until 8pm.
Since this is an outdoor event  schedules are dependent of weather conditions.

Ticket prices range from €4.50 to €8 (free for children up to 5 years old)

Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture



Today at 18h00(GMT) will take place the opening ceremony of Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture. Located in the Northwest of Portugal, the historic city of Guimarães will host a series of art events presented by artists from several countries.

With the creation of artistic residencies and a proactive involvement with the public, in particularly with the population and schools, Guimarães 2012 will contribute to the cultural development of the city and its surrounding, as well as to the interaction between artists working in distinct areas and from different countries.

Throughout the year, the programme will include music, cinema, photography, fine arts, architecture, literature, thought, theatre, dance and street art.

Guimarães 2012 opening performance will take place at 22h00(GMT) at the Toural Square (Largo do Toural) and will be presented by the famous Catalan theatrical group founded in 1979, La Fura Dels Baus.



The city of Maribor in Slovenia is the other European Capital of Culture for this year. Maribor 2012 was inaugurated on January 13 and will present a programme focused on a young audience.

The future European Capitals of Culture will be Marseille (France) and Košice (Slovakia) in 2013; Umeå (Sweden) and Riga (Latvia) in 2014; Mons (Belgium) and Plzeň (Czech Republic) in 2015.

LUMINA Light Festival in Sintra



Today, September 23rd at 21h00, will be inaugurated at the National Palace in Sintra (Palácio da Vila), the LUMINA light festival.

Everyday until the 25th, between 21h00 and 24h00, the public will be able to watch several light based artistic events such as performances, multimedia projections and installations. These events will take place in several venues throughout a "Light Path" (Caminho da Luz).

Lumina Light Festival is promoted by the SINTRARTES 2011 – Artes de Rua, an initiative of Sintra's City Hall.
The city of Sintra is part of UNESCO's World Heritage Site.

Admission is free to all events. Don't forget to bring your flashlight !

11th Biennale de Lyon - A Terrible Beauty is Born



Conceived by the Argentinean curator Victoria Noorthoorn and baptized under "A Terrible Beauty is Born" (Une Terrible Beauté est Née), after a verse from the poem Easter, written in 1916 by the Irish writer W.B. Yeats, the 11th Biennale de Lyon will host the works of near 70 artists from around the world, mostly from Europe, Africa and Latin America.

The biennial will occupy over 14.000 square meters, across four venues: La Sucrière, the Fondation Bullukian, the Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon, and the T.A.S.E. factory.

Two platforms, "Veduta" and "Résonanse," will complement this international exhibition, contributing to enhance the visitors experience and with the purpose of getting artists and public to interact.

Veduta 2011 will be presented to the public in four distincted venues: The 21st Century Museum, The White Cube, The Kiosque and Artist Residences.

Résonance 2011 will offer over 125 attractions across Greater Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region, including dance, performance, theatre, photography, video, installations, design, music, and literature, presented through more than 90 art centres, private galleries and cultural institutions. Artist collectives will also team up with the Biennale de Lyon.

The high points in the programme are the Biennale’s opening week (10-17 September), featuring a host of openings, exhibitions, concerts, screenings and events; and the Nuit Résonance, an all-night event held in central Lyon on 24 November. Full programme to be published in August 2011 in the Résonance guide (30,000 copies) available in Biennale participating venues and at the official website.

The 11th Biennale de Lyon can be visited from Thursday 15 September 2011 to Saturday 31 December 2011 (Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 6pm - Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 7pm).
Closed on Mondays and on 25 December 2011.

Cerveira Biennial 2011

The 16th edition of the Cerveira Biennial (Bienal de Cerveira) takes place between July 16 and September 17, 2011 in the North of Portugal, more precisely in Vila Nova de Cerveira.
Established in 1978, it's one of the most important artistic events in Portugal.

The programme includes selected works by artists who entered the Cerveira Biennial's International Contest, guest artists, a tribute to the portuguese sculptor José Rodrigues and an exhibit of his work, 6 curatorial projects, performances, artistic residencies in the form of ateliers/workshops, and debates with the intervention of artists, curators and directors of other international biennials.
Included in the agenda are also guided visits to the exhibitions, creative industries, films, documentaries, concerts and other activities.

With the objective of bringing art to a larger public, the 16th edition expands to the city of Oporto and to Vigo in the Galiza region, Northwest of Spain, near the Portuguese border.

This year's edition of the Cerveira Biennial (Bienal de Cerveira) happens under the theme "Redes 2011" (Networks 2011) and seeks to promote the establishement of dialogues with other international biennials, with the purpose of providing means that will allow worldwide artists and other creative people to develope their work, be it in their country or in a foreign one.

Artists will be offered working conditions, investigation opportunities and facilities for the presentation of their works.
They will also be able to attend panel discussions and debates with artists from several countries on different areas of artistic expression.

"Soul of Brooklyn Week" 2011



The second annual Soul of Brooklyn Week celebration starts this Saturday, June 18th, with a press conference held at noon in the Cuyler Park in Fort Greene on Fulton Street and Greene Avenue, during the 11th Annual Fort Greene Juneteenth Arts Festival, which commemorates the anniversary of the abolition of slavery.
The event will be presented by Tribal Truths Clothing Store in partnership with Urban Bush Women Dance Company.

Organized by the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) and the Brooklyn Arts Council, the Soul of Brooklyn Week will host from June 18th through June 25th, a series of 18 cultural events that will include performances, street fairs, educational events, workshops, tastings, film screenings and shopping opportunities.

Brooklyn residents, visitors and tourists will be able to experience all that Brooklyn’s African Diaspora has to offer from its African, African American, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latino communities.

Most of the events will have free admission, while some can be accessed by purchasing tickets in advance for a very reasonable value.

In the words of Laurie A. Cumbo, Founder and Executive Director of MoCADA, “The Soul of Brooklyn Week is designed to preserve the economic and cultural diversity of Brooklyn, and to encourage locals and tourists alike to utilize the website to discover all the exciting businesses and cultural offerings within the Borough with the largest African Diaspora population.”

This year's edition has the financial support from the NYC Rockefeller Innovation Fund.

Festival International du Pastel 2011



Since its start in 2001, the Festival International du Pastel, organized by the Société des Pastellistes de France in partnership with the village of Feytiat, holds reputation as one of the most prestigious art festivals in the world dedicted to pastel.

Each year the festival receives near 20000 visitors desirous to see the near 300 works by pastelists from around the world.

Several workshops will take place during the festival, offering participants the chance to improve their techniques, learn from the experience of master pastelists and put in practice the acquired knowledge.

The workshops, in the number of four, will cover the following themes and subjects: still life, florals, nude, portraiture, landscape, seascape and animal portraiture.

Starting with a welcome cocktail followed by a dinner on Monday at 19h00, the workshops will start on Tuesday (10h00 - 12h30; 14h30 - 17h30 ). Participants will enjoy a lunch with the artists in a convivial atmosphere.

Regular fees to attend the workshops start at 100 Euro per day (subjected to availability) and go up to 400 Euro for complete workshops.
Children between the ages of 10 and 14 can attend a two days workshop (no lunch included) for 174 Euro.
Feytiat inhabitants are eligible for special prices.

This year's edition will count with artists from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada (including from Quebec), Colombia, England, Finland, France, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Poland, Russia, USA, Spain and Vietnam.

The Festival International du Pastel will take place at the Espace Georges Brassens in the village of Feytiat near Limoges (Limousin, France) from July 2 through September 4, 2011.

Art in the Square Delray Beach 2011



Art in the Square is to take place on October 29th -30th, 2011 in Delray Beach, Florida. This event is produced by RPG Productions, LLC. to support local art programs and Make-A-Wish Foundation®. During this event Old School Square Cultural Arts Center will be transformed into an outdoor art gallery with works of some of the best artists and craftsmen both from South East and from around the country. Art in the Square will be a juried event with awards ranging from $400 to $3000.

On display will be: ceramics, drawings, fabrics, glass, graphics, jewelry, metalwork, paintings, pastels, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood and mixed media. This event is expected to attract many collectors and dealers as well as national and regional media as well, as trade publications. Art in the Square will take place in the beginning of the holiday shopping season and is expected to bring in a lot of shoppers.

For artists who wish to participate, a $17 fee and a $100 deposits are required. The deposit is to be returned if not accepted. 12x12 booths are available for $400. A $50 discount on the booth is offered to members of NAIA (National Association of Independent Artist), Palm Beach Artists Guild, South Florida Artists Association, and Women in the Visual Arts Inc.

During the promotional period frequent show updates and artist profiles will be circulated to media outlets as well as emailed to a combined email subscription list of over 47,000 industry professionals, art collectors and artists. All this will ensure a widespread coverage of the event and artists participating in it.

Art in the Square will be advertised through: Palm Beach Post, Sun-Sentinel, New Times Magazine, radio, television, street banner advertising, street flyer distribution in strategic downtown locations, and billboard advertising.

Serralves em Festa! - 40H Non-Stop (Party at Serralves!)


Serralves em Festa! (Party at Serralves!) is the major contemporary arts festival that takes place in Portugal, lasting for 40 consecutive hours and including activities for all ages, all families, and for the whole family.

From 8 a.m. Saturday, May 28, to midnight on Sunday, May 29, Serralves will host more than 240 events, including Cinema, Video, Installation, Photography, Performance, Music (Improvised, Pop Rock, Electronic, Experimental, Jazz, DJs), Contemporary Dance, Acrobatics, Contemporary Circus, Sound Objects Circus, Theatre (Street Theatre, Theatre for Children, Puppet Theatre), Exhibitions, Workshops, Guided visits, and a range of activities for children and families.

Admission to all activities is free and the access to Serralves em Festa! will be made through Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa (main gate of the Serralves Foundation).

Art Takes London 2011



Art Takes London 2011 is an art contest open to all artists around the world, with particular focus on emerging ones, who are 13 years of age or older as of the date of entry (minors under the age of 18 may enter online by providing their parent or legal guardian’s e-mail address).

The organizers are looking for innovative works including: Painting, Sculpture, Illustration, Design, Photography, Film, Video, Performance, Installation, Sound, New Media.
Conceptual proposals are also welcome.

Those who wish to participate in Art Takes London 2011 can do it by using the online submission form. Price for entry is $10 per image, you can submit 8 or more images for a flat rate of $79 (maximum of 20 images).
Each entry must be the original work of the entrant, and entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright of such entry.

All online applicants will receive an online portfolio and the entries submitted by the Initial Deadline (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, May 27, 2011) will be eligible for the People's Choice Award (judged entirely online and does not affect the selection of the Grand Prize winner).
Portfolios will be fully editable through the use of a password (you can change/add images and modify your bio) until the deadline.

All entries, including those submited by the Final Deadline (Eastern Time on Friday, June 3, 2011) will be eligible for the Grand Prize.
Note that submissions after the Initial Deadline are not eligible for the People's Choice Award and are subjected to a Ten Dollar ($10.00) late entry fee.
Any entries and/or payments submitted after the Final Deadline will be automatically void.

A panel of judges (Alexis Hubshman, founder of SCOPE Art Fair, Jason Goodman, founder of 3rd Ward, and Daria Brit Shapiro, Head Curator of Artists Wanted) will select one artist to be awarded the Grand Prize consisted of $10,000 total cash ($5,000 budget to produce new work to be presented at SCOPE London 2011, where the winner will receive a feature spot, and a $5,000 cash prize), a publicity campaign around your work in both London and New York and an online feature promoting your work internationally.

The public will cast their vote and the highest rated portfolio will receive the People's Choice Award: $2,500 cash and an online feature promoting your work internationally.

Six selected Category Award Winners will receive inclusion in a printed catalog that will be distributed at Scope London, as well as an online feature gaining exposure to hundreds of thousands of art enthusiasts.

top 50 runners-up will receive online features, gaining worldwide exposure.

Antalya, Turkey will host Sandland 2011

The 5th International Antalya Sand Festival "Sandland 2011," in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, Turkey, will be inaugurated on May 1, 2011, counting with the participation of nearly 25 professional sculptors from around the world who already started working on their sculptures since this April.

This year's edition is dedicated to Hollywood and will show 30 famous reproductions, including ‘Back to The Future,’ ‘Braveheart,’ ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘E.T,’ ‘Spiderman,’ ‘Jaws,’ ‘King Kong,’ ‘The Godfather,’ ‘The Matrix,’ ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Transformers,’ ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ ‘James Bond’ and ‘Lord of the Rings.’

Visitors will see immortal Hollywood actors such as Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin in the fantasy world of sand, as well as a 25-meter-tall dinosaur sand sculpture that will add to the atmosphere of ‘Jurassic Park.’
Special lighting and sound effects will add colour to the sand sculptures at night, enhancing the experience.

Artists from United States, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Spain, Portugal and Turkey will use near 10,000 tones of sand to create the 30 Hollywood scenes.

Last year the festival was visited by near 160,000 and more than 200,000 are expected this year, making it a reference in it's kind and a contribution to the tourism in Turkey and more specifically Antalya.
